The Toronto smoking ban on patios began yesterday. I say yay. Umbrellas surely do block adequate ventilation, and cigarette smoke blocks the smog that would normally be entering into any breathing patio-enjoying chump. What’s my seemingly bitter point? Pollution sucks, and how. But more effort seems to be going towards targeting smokers as the demons of mass society, when really, we’re all jerks. And we western worlders know we’re jerks, in fact, we’re painfully aware of it (and that’s probably what’s got so much of the continent sucking back nicotine and other smokey wonders). I suppose any effort towards a generally more healthy population is a good thing; but the focus of such effort needs to be addressed… by someone other than this jerk. Ha!
On a different note, last night consisted of a couple of relaxing pints followed up with a couple of relaxing joints. And then a couple guitars played for a couple of hours, and all was right in the world. Stoners do love guitars.
This MP needs real summer to start.
